Setup a device
Setup a local venue like a hotel, bar or restaurant in the Management Portal.

Link and activate
Link your Taxi Butler device to the venue by entering the activation code.

Test the device
Do a quick test at your headquarters to see if the device is setup correctly.

Place the device
Go out and place the Taxi Butler in the venue and explain how it works.

× Brand your devices with your logo

Display your taxi company's logo on the screen of your Taxi Butler devices to increase your brand awareness and visibility.

  1. To check if your logo is setup, navigate to the "Company Profile" tab in the Management Portal.
  2. If your logo is visible, this means that it will display on the screen of the device.
  3. If your logo isn't visible, please send your logo to tech@taxibutler.com and our technology team will set it up for you.

Note: when sending your logo to our technology team, please use .png format with a transparent background.

× Change the on-screen wording of "taxi"

Change the language of your device to reflect your fleet. You can change it between "taxi", "cab", and "car". Instead of “Order a taxi” written on the screen it can be “Order a cab".

  1. To change the on-screen wording of the word "taxi", navigate to the “Venues” tab in the Management Portal.
  2. Click on the venue for which you would like to change the language.
  3. Click on “Edit” in the top right-hand corner.
  4. Go to the “Language” field and type “english”.
  5. Choose between “Taxi”, “Car”, and “Cab”.
  6. Click on “Save”.

Note: this feature is only available in English.

× Choose your device's display name wisely

Choose how the venue name is displayed on the Taxi Butler device's screen.

  1. To change the display name of a device, navigate to the “Venues” tab in the Management Portal.
  2. Click on the venue for which you would like to change the display name.
  3. Click on “Edit” in the top right-hand corner.
  4. Go to the “Display name” field and type in the desired display name.
  5. Click on “Save”.

Note: it is best practice to Capitalize Each Word and ensure the spelling is correct.

× Let venues order multiple taxi types

Let venues book multiple types of taxis with your fleet by enabling the secondary booking mode and telling them to double click the Taxi Butler ONE button when booking a taxi.

  1. To enable the secondary booking mode for a device, navigate to the “Venues” tab in the Management Portal.
  2. Click on the venue for which you would like to activate this feature.
  3. Click on “Edit” in the top right-hand corner.
  4. Scroll down to the “secondary booking mode” field and use the dropdown to select which type of taxi should be available to this venue.
  5. Click on “Save”.

Note: this feature is only available for some dispatch systems and setups. If you have any questions, please reach out to our technology

× Control demand with the "max bookings" feature

Limit the amount of simultaneous taxis that can be booked at one time on your devices for a specific venue.

  1. To limit the amount of simultaneous taxis that can be booked at one time , navigate to the “Venues” tab in the Management Portal.
  2. Click on the venue for which you would like to set a limit.
  3. Click on “Edit” in the top right-hand corner.
  4. Scroll down to the “max taxi bookings” field and use the dropdown to select an amount.
  5. Click on “Save”.

Note: this feature should be used to control the amount of simultaneous bookings that a specific device can process.

× Keep your drivers in the loop

Give extra information to your drivers by entering comments or notes for drivers that pickup from a specific venue.

  1. To give extra information to your drivers about a specific venue, navigate to the “Venues” tab in the Management Portal.
  2. Click on the venue for which you would like to add a note.
  3. Click on “Edit” in the top right-hand corner.
  4. Scroll down to the “Extra info for driver” field and type your message.
  5. Click on “Save”.

Example: Please go to reception desk to pick up the passenger.

Example: Please only use the hotel “pick up point”.

× Keep your team updated

Write internal comments for each venue to simplify your device management and keep track of useful information.

  1. To add an internal comment, navigate to the “Venues” tab in the Management Portal.
  2. Click on the venue for which you would like to add an internal comment.
  3. Click on “Edit” in the top right-hand corner.
  4. Scroll down to the “internal comments” field and type your comment.
  5. Click on “Save”.

Example: Contact person for this venue is John, john@example.com, +4412345678

Example: James deployed this device on 12/03/2020.

× Easily find venues in your area

Get more automated bookings from venues by easily finding venues in your local area with the Venue Creator.

The Venue Creator is a tool that we developed in the Management Portal that provides you with a faster, more intuitive and simpler way of finding, adding and setting up local venues in the Management Portal.

× Convince venues to use your devices

Win more business with your local venues by persuading them to use your Taxi Butlers with materials and packages from this Deployment Kit.

Use the flyers and presentation to give to potential venues and convince them on using the Taxi Butler to place bookings directly with your company.

× Ensure correct usage of the Taxi Butler

Ensure that only venue staff like bartenders, receptionists and concierges are using the device to book taxis to limit the misuse of the device.

When you deploy the devices in venues, make sure to brief the venue staff that the device should be staff-facing, and not available to the public.

This way you can ensure that the device is used in the correct manner.

× Educate and explain to venues

Take the time to educate and explain venue staff on how to correctly use the Taxi Butler.
